How it works
After an FOMC announcement gold often moves hard in one direction. The system waits for the first 30-minute range to form, then enters in the direction of the breakout.
- Tested on real 1-minute gold data, 2013–2026
- With so few trades the statistics are less stable than the other systems. Use it as an add-on only.
Latest version v3
Updated 2026-10-03FOMC only
- Tested many USD releases (NFP, CPI, FOMC and more). Only FOMC kept an edge.
- Wait for the 30-minute range after the announcement, then enter in the breakout direction · SL mid-range · TP 3× the range
- Very few trades (about 7 a year). Do not use it on its own.
Which timeframe
Best: M1–M5M1M5
Trades only 30–175 minutes after the FOMC announcement, using minute data.
Why this many trades: Very few trades because the FOMC announces only 8 times a year. (0.61 trades/month)
